The Washington Nationals and RHP Stephen Strasburg are in agreement on a seven year, $245 million deal. Credits to Jeff Passan for breaking the news.
What does this mean for baseball? This means that the Nationals made their decision and have passed on Anthony Rendon. This also means that Gerrit Cole’s value has gone up even more than it was.
Teams interested in Cole and Strasburg now have to shift their gears and focus solely on Gerrit Cole.
For the Dodgers, this means that they now have a better shot at landing Anthony Rendon. Not saying it is a for sure signing but, this does add to their chances of landing him.
